We are delighted to share the news that Anabelle and Cassine passed their Lowland Rescue Level 2 Airscenting National Assessment this afternoon in challenging weather conditions. Cassine is the first German Shepherd to qualify as an operational search dog for Lowland Rescue. We are very proud of them both. ...
I shared this on a group called K9 SAR Network, which I joined a while ago - it received 6 comments of congratulations and 53 likes/hearts!

This week we sadly had to say goodbye to Merlin, one of our L3 Search Dogs after a short illness.
Merlin was a very special dog who followed in his sister Sassys footsteps in qualifying as an area Search Dog.
He never failed to make an impression on everyone who met him. Whether it was his massive grin, his enviable work ethic or his penchant for jellyfish and face wipes.
He will be dearly missed by everyone.
Stand down Merlin. ...
So sorry for your loss.
So sorry for your loss. We’re thinking of you all.
So very sorry to hear this. Stand down now Merlin. Your work is done. Run free over the bridge xx
Sad times, run free Merlin. Woofs and bum wiggles from Search Dog Oppo and Chhubohe, the young apprentice.
Sorry to hear this, such a lovely boy
Very sad my thoughts are with you.
Oh no sorry to hear that 😂
So sorry for you loss x sweet dreams Merlin x

From tomorrow the rules on social gatherings are changing and it will become against the law to meet people you do not live with in groups larger than 6. There are, of course, exceptions and, as a charity and group of volunteers, our team members fall under that catagory. All our members give up their time free of charge. This includes responding when the police call us to assist in searching for a missing vulnerable person, as well as training both members and their dogs. A qualified dog can take 2 years to train and those skills must be practised regularly to keep our dogs ready and able to respond when required. During COVID lockdown, it has been imperative to keep our members skills current and up to date. We found new and different ways of doing this and as restrictions lifted, we were able to get back to some 'normal' training. We have researched the new regulations coming in, and are pleased to see that we can continue our training. If you see the team out and about, please rest assured we have strict COVID19 policies and risk assessments in place, and are maintaining social distances at all times. Please do feel free to chat to us and we will happily tell you more about our work. ...

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day. Sadly too many lives are lost and suicide ideation is a significant number of callouts for us. Suicide is a problem that affects all age groups, genders and social strata, and it sometimes seems utterly inescapable. Today raises awareness about this tragic issue and works to prevent it through education and support of those who struggle with suicide ideation every day. Interrupting someone’s thoughts can and does save lives! Please watch the short film below
